1. What is a forest fire?

       Any forest fire that exceeds a certain area will be called a forest fire if it loses man-made control and spreads and expands freely in forest lands, causing harm to forests, forest ecosystems, and humans.

2. What are the types of forest fires?

       Forest fires are divided into surface fires, trunk fires, canopy fires, and underground fires.

       Surface fire is a fire that burns on the surface of the ground. It burns litter and weeds, and burns dead trees, shrubs, and trees.

       Trunk fire is the burning fire of the trunk, usually caused by surface fire and lightning strike.

       Canopy fire is a fire that burns and spreads in the canopy of a tree. It is caused by the burning of the surface fire in the jungle to the crown. Once this kind of fire is formed, it can burn all the branches and trunks of the leaves and the fallen branches of the fire can burn the saplings. They are very destructive, and it is very difficult to extinguish and often cause devastating disasters.

       Underground fires are formed by the burning of humus layers or peat beneath the forest floor. Fires are often invisible and only smoke can be seen. This kind of fire can destroy the roots and destroy the forest.

3. What are the levels of forest fires?

       According to the area of the affected forests and the number of casualties, the forest fires are divided into general forest fires, larger forest fires, major forest fires and particularly significant forest fires.

       Ordinary forest fires: If the area of the damaged forest is less than 1 hectare, or if other forests start to catch fire, or if more than one person but less than 3 persons are killed or if more than one person but less than 10 persons are seriously injured;

       Large-scale forest fires: where the area of damaged forests is between 1 hectare and 100 hectares, or if there are more than 3 deaths but less than 10 persons, or more than 10 to 50 persons are seriously injured;

       Major forest fires: where the area of damaged forest is between 100 hectares and 1,000 hectares, or if more than 10 people but less than 30 people are killed, or if he has seriously injured more than 50 people but less than 100 people;

       Particularly significant forest fires: where the area of forests damaged exceeds 1,000 hectares, or if more than 30 people die, or if more than 100 people are seriously injured.

       (Note: "“ above" includes this number, "“ below" does not include this number)

What are the characteristics of forest fire?

       Forest fires are generally particularly sudden and ferocious. When humans fight forest fires, they have great difficulties. They also spend a lot of money and supplies. In serious cases, it will also cause casualties and even burn down towns. Therefore, forest fires are very destructive.

5. What are the hazards of forest fires to forest resources?

       People often say: "previously planted trees, descendants cool. "A seedling growing into a big tree often takes decades or even hundreds of years. It takes a lot of effort and sweat, and a forest fire can destroy large areas of forest in days or hours." The precious wild animals and plants in the forest disappeared instantly, and some even became extinct.

6. What harm does forest fire have to human living environment?

       Forests are the main body of terrestrial ecosystems.

       One of the important functions of the forest is to create a beautiful living environment for humans. It absorbs carbon dioxide and releases oxygen through photosynthesis. However, forest fires will instantaneously cause a large number of forests to disappear, causing air pollution and reducing oxygen in the atmosphere. With the loss of forests, various natural disasters will follow: the loss of water and soil, the frequent occurrence of floods and the intensification of the greenhouse effect. In short, the living environment of human beings will be destroyed due to forest fires.

7. What harm does forest fire have to human life and property safety?

       After a forest fire occurs, the forests and even towns and villages are burned. The lives and property of the people living in the forest area will be greatly threatened and damaged, seriously disturbing people's normal production and living order, and society will not be stable.

8. Are there many forest fires in China?

       According to statistics from 2000 to 2006, an average of 9,000 forest fires occurred in China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan regions), and the area of damaged forests was more than 180,000 hectares, with more than 140 casualties. The

9. Has there been a major forest fire in China?

       Let me tell you the story of the devastating forest fire in Daxing'anling!

On May 6, 1987, an extremely large forest fire occurred in the Daxinganling region of Heilongjiang Province. The fire continued for 28 days. The fire area reached 1.33 million hectares, the area of damaged forests was 870,000 hectares, and the burned forests accumulated 39.6 million cubic meters. The fire burned 2,488 sets of various equipment, including 617 large-scale equipment such as automobiles, tractors and heavy machinery; 67 bridges and culverts, a total length of 1340 meters; a railway line of 9.2 kilometers, a communication line of 483 kilometers and a power transmission line of 284 kilometers. 3.25 million kilograms of food were burnt, and 614,000 square meters of houses were built, of which 400,000 square meters were private houses. One night, three forestry sites, Xilinji, Tuqiang, and Amorg, and seven forest farms and 4.5 wood storage yards were burned. The fire killed 213 people and injured 226 people. The fire caused 10807 households to suffer disasters. The number of affected people reached 56092 people, causing direct economic losses of more than 500 million yuan and indirect economic losses of 420 million yuan. The fire shocked the country. To this day, people still remember the profound lessons of this fire.

10. Why does the forest burn?

       Because there are combustible organic substances in the forest, they are called combustibles, such as branches, leaves, and weeds, which are the material basis of forest burning.

11. What are the conditions for forest fires?

       Forest burning must meet the following three conditions: combustibles, combustibles (oxygen, etc.) and a certain temperature.

12. What is the relationship between forest burning and air?

       The forest must have enough oxygen during the combustion process. If the oxygen content in the air is reduced to 14-18, combustion will stop. So the air is the catalyst of the forest burning "catalyst". The burning of 1 kilogram of wood usually requires 3.2 cubic meters to 4 cubic meters of air and requires pure oxygen from 0.6 cubic meters to 0.8 cubic meters. The

13. What is the relationship between forest burning and temperature?

       Each combustible must have a combustible temperature, also known as a flash point. According to the statistics of scientists, the burning point of common dry and dry weeds is 150°C-200°C, and that of wood is 200°C-300°C. When the temperature of the combustible reaches the ignition point, it begins to burn. The

14. Why is there a lot of forest fires during the year and sometimes there are few forest fires?

       Because of the different climate conditions in the forest areas throughout the year, we all know that the winter is dry and cold, and it is humid and hot in summer. When the weather continuously dries, the precipitation is low, the temperature rises, and the relative humidity is low, the trees burn easily once there is a fire source.
